Hen Checking Things Out

Welcome to Our Tools and Resources Section

We know that isn't the only resource available to you and your family although we like to think that we have a lot to offer, in fact, we like to think of ourselves as: The Place for learning "How to Raise Chickens successfully!"

In our tools and resources section we'll try to get you where you need to go.

So if you're in need of a little extra help and, if like our feathered friend pictured above you're not sure where to go, you may want to start with FAQ's section.

We've also included a Site Map with search box so you can more easily find what you're looking for.

If you're unsure of the meaning of a term or need to know the correct term for something, a great tool and resource to check out is our Glossary

It's chock full of commonly used chicken words, terms, and phrases. You can even print it out and use it for a handy reference.

We're also proud to recommend the following resources (we use them ourselves) to our readers:

Want to share your experiences or hear about others experiences? Check out some memorable moments and share your own on YOUR Pet Chicken Stories.

Looking for recipes using chicken, eggs or both? Have a great chicken recipe you want to share? Check out our Chicken Recipes page.

If you're pretty handy with basic hand and power tools and would like to take the hands on approach and build your own chicken coop or hen house, then check out some of these free chicken coop plans.

If you don't care for any of our free plans, you might want to check out ChickenCoopGuides, they offer 19 different plans to choose from along with a bunch of other goodies for not too much money.

You can also check out Catawba ConvertiCoops. They're pretty affordable and seem pretty cool.

ChickenCoopGuides, Catawba ConvertiCoops, and AutomaticChickenCoopDoors are affiliates of so if you do purchase from any of them, we do get paid which helps to support the site. Just wanted you to know.

We think they're all pretty nifty and we like the whole idea of being self sufficient whenever possible.

Most of them can be built with basic hand tools and carpentry skills and don't require you to have any special training, skills, or tools.

We've also written two Free eBooks for our visitors just to say Thank you. You can learn more about them just by clicking on the link.

We encourage everyone to participate and become part of Families Raising Chickens. We built this site for you and your family to use and enjoy.
